INTRODUCTION

Shu-Te University offers comprehensive recurrent education programs. These programs reflect the positive rationale and the practicality this institution praises for in a long-nurtured and well-minded campus culture. After obtaining accreditation from the Ministry of Education in 1998, the Continuing Education Division started to offer the four-year bachelor’s degree program for in-service students. The two-year bachelor’s degree program began in 1999. In 2001, the master’s degree program was added. These programs offer opportunities for education-minded people from the general public to regain academic strength. The programs are also designed to meet the needs of regional industries in terms of workforce preparation. The effectiveness and the significance of the programs are widely recognized, and the Continuing Education curriculum of Shu-Te University has become a role model for regional institutions. In addition to regular office hours, the combined offices are also open in the evening and the weekend whenever program courses are scheduled. The ongoing two-year bachelor’s associate degree program for specific groups,the two-year bachelor’s degree program for specific groups,the four-year bachelor’s degree program, and the master’s degree program offer excellent chances for students to obtain expertise and degrees through evening and weekend courses.

The division is staffed with sections for academic affairs, student affairs, and general affairs to offer timely and effective services for students. The mission of the division aims to maximize the effectiveness of the classroom space, faculty specialties, teaching facilities, and administrative resources of Shu-Te University. The division works by combining skillful talents and outstanding performance in order to reach the goals hailed by the university motto: to be Academic, Intellectual, Happy, and Hopeful. The division also organizes courses for perspective students who plan to acquire practical knowledge and skill training. The division co-operates with related parties to arrange practical training courses for Technician Certification and Licensing exams administered by the Council of Labor Affairs, to help integrate teaching and training as well as to nurture talents with expertise for the industries.

●Academic Affairs Section Team:Co-organize the issuance of documents such as student registration, certificates, grades, course selection, and classroom assignments. Handle the examination work for the entrance examination of students of continuing education at two-year junior college and the in-service special classes of active military personnel.

●Student Affairs Section:Handle various school subsidy measures and other applications for scholarships and stipends inside and outside the school, assist in the establishment of student associations in the Department of Advanced Studies, handle various activities of the Department of Advanced Studies, and maintain and update the website.
